Installing durable, beautiful flooring is easier than you might think with O.R.C.A. flooring and its 1clic 2go pure+ system! O.R.C.A. (Organic Rigid Coreboard Abrasion-proof) technology brings together sustainability and resilience with an eco-friendly design. It uses natural wood fibers bound with moisture-resistant materials to create a flooring that withstands spills, scratches, and even heavy foot traffic.
The 1clic 2go pure+ click system is designed for simplicity—each plank clicks seamlessly into place, creating a secure, gap-free fit that resists wear over time. Whether you’re a DIY novice or experienced installer, this system makes achieving a polished, professional look simple.
Important Preparation Steps
Before beginning, familiarize yourself with the installation instructions, and make sure to follow each step. This process meets ATV DIN 18365 standards, which are essential to maintain warranty coverage.
Choose Your Installation Method
Depending on the room and moisture level, choose from the following:
-
Quick Installation Without Glue: Suitable for most areas of the home.
-
Installation with Clickguard™ Sealant: If extra protection is needed for commercially used spaces or private bathrooms, Clickguard™ can be applied to protect against moisture.
When using Clickguard™, apply a thin layer along the tongue and groove before fitting each plank. Any excess can be wiped away with a plastic spatula after 15-20 minutes.
Gather Materials and Tools
For smooth installation, have the following tools ready:
-
Polyethylene foil: For subfloors that require a vapor barrier.
-
Aluminum jointing tape: For securing vapor barriers.
-
Spacers: To maintain expansion gaps along edges
-
Insulation underlay: Provides enhanced comfort underfoot and helps protect the flooring while minimizing noise and vibrations.
-
Other tools: Rubber mallet and tapping block, saw (for trimming edges), folding ruler, spirit level, and, if needed, Clickguard™ joint sealant.
Preparing the Space
-
Acclimate the Flooring: Store the unopened packs in the room for at least 48 hours to allow them to adjust to the room’s temperature (between 15–30°C) and humidity (40–70%).
-
Prepare the Subfloor: Make sure the subfloor is flat, stable, clean, and dry. Use a spirit level to check for evenness—no bumps or dips larger than 2 mm over a 1-meter span. If you’re installing over concrete or screed, add a polyethylene vapor barrier to prevent moisture from seeping into the flooring.
-
Add Underlay: For added comfort and sound insulation, install a system-compatible underlay, edge-to-edge, ensuring joints do not overlap with flooring seams. If the flooring already has a pre-attached underlay, additional underlay is unnecessary.
-
Using O.R.C.A. Flooring with Underfloor Heating: O.R.C.A. flooring is compatible with underfloor heating if professionally installed across the entire floor. Ensure surface temperatures remain below 27°C, and keep the combined thermal resistance of flooring and underlay ≤ 0.15 m² K/W.
Step-by-Step Installation
1. Start with the First Row
-
Begin in a corner of the room. Place the first plank with the tongue side facing the wall.
-
Use spacers along the wall to create a small expansion gap (8–10 mm) to allow the floor to expand and contract naturally.
-
Ensure each plank is aligned evenly along the wall.
2. Engage the 1clic 2go pure+ Locking System
-
Take the next plank and angle the tongue into the groove of the previous plank at about a 30° angle.
-
Press down until you hear a “click,” which signals a secure lock. Then on the short side of the plank place the tapping block, which is tapped several times with the rubber mallet.
3. Trim the Last Plank in the First Row
-
When you reach the wall at the end of the first row, measure and trim the last plank to fit, leaving the same 8–10 mm expansion gap along the edge.
-
Pro Tip: Use the remaining piece from this cut to start the next row if it’s at least 40 cm long. This reduces waste and staggers the joints, which adds stability.
4. Laying Additional Rows
-
Stagger each row by at least 40 cm for a natural look and added strength.
-
Start each new row by clicking the plank lengthwise into the groove of the row above, and then press down to click it into place on the side.
-
For unusual angles along walls, trace the wall’s angle onto the plank and trim as necessary.
5. Optional Step: Apply Clickguard™ for Extra Protection
-
For extra moisture resistance, apply a layer of Clickguard™ to the tongue side of each plank before clicking it into place. This provides a seal from the top down, which is ideal for rooms that need added protection.
-
After installation, scrape off any excess Clickguard™ with a plastic spatula.
